When asked to develop a webshop for Mr Bao, we thought it was a timely opportunity to champion the special people that make their restaurants a reality. In the UK, working in hospitality isn’t always seen as a valuable career choice. Mr Bao aims to change that, and we do too.
The visual language behind the scenes in restaurants that’s often seen as purely ‘functional’, provided an interesting metaphor for how we could build a lifestyle brand that champions the unsung heroes of the kitchen. To give the staff even more ownership over the project, we gave them disposable cameras to photograph the merch themselves.
